This book captivated me from beginning to end. It's a cultural twist on a well loved fairytale and takes place in China during a time when girls were subjected to the painful tradition of foot binding. See if you can guess which fairytale it is retelling.

-This book is a story of a boy living in a utopian world where everything is orderly, life is carefully monitored and every person's needs are met. But there is something else going on behind this perfect world and Jonas is about to really start living. An enticing book that I could not put down. Read the book before the movie! This summer 2014 it will be released as a movie staring Brenton Thwaites, Katie Holmes and Taylor Swift.

-This is a book that caught my eye when it was placed in the return box in the library. I started reading it out of curiousity for the fictional, royal characters who come from a a tiny island kingdom, Montmaray. The book describes their high society lives in the midst of countries at war. Click the link above to read more!
-a delightful book about a middle school girl in Manhatten who attends private school. She's a multi-talented character who plays in a band, swims competitively, meets a movie star and has been given the task of solving a mystery of a mistaken work of art.
